We developed the new Cruise R series specifically for boats that have a steering wheel and throttle, and sailboats that are steered by a rudder.

We have already achieved the best overall efficiency on the market with our simpler motors. But that hasn't stopped us from further improving our best model range. The new Cruise R models achieve an efficiency of up to 56%! This means that more than half of the energy contained in the battery is converted into driving power (measured after deducting all losses, including propeller losses). To our knowledge, this is a new world record for outboard motors!

We've made the motor even more robust! Even temporary complete submersion won't hurt it! And we've integrated a GPS module and an on-board computer into the motor, so you always know what the battery status is and how much distance you can still travel. Last but not least, the Cruise R series motors are even more powerful! Despite all these amazing features, you don't need a driver's license to drive them!

The Torqeedo Cruise 4.0 engine, as a 48 volt engine, has the same power as an 8 HP gasoline engine and the thrust of a 9.9 HP gasoline engine.
